A tale of three cities: Vancouver, Seattle and Portland

Being city slickers at heart, we were ready for the bright lights after our drive through the Canadian Rockies. Over the next two weeks we explored three of the top North American cities to get our fix. Here are some of our favourite snaps:.

Vancouver: a bustling, ethnically diverse city surrounded by stunning water and mountains.

Seattle: a quirky city; the home of Starbucks, Amazon and Microsoft but also full of cool neighbourhoods. Also surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests.

Portland: in the shadow of snow-capped Mount Hood, this city is full of amazing food trucks, microbreweries and artisan coffeehouses.

The city slogan

We loved our time in all three places, but Portland was definitely our favourite with all delicious food and drink (plus it was sunny for all four days!).

Next stops: the National Parks of Grand Teton and Yellowstone
